Train is cheap means of transport when traveling to Bangkok. Hua Lamphong Station is located in the center of Bangkok City in Pathum District – the city’s main railway station. The station has 14 main areas, 26 ticket windows, serves more than 130 trains and about 60,000 passengers a day. To save money when traveling to Thailand, you should choose a bus, but few visitors choose this vehicle because traffic congestion in Bangkok is very common, moreover bus staff’s attitude might make travelers unpleasant. There are two main types of bus in Bangkok: air-conditioned bus and non-air-conditioned bus, depending on different prices. You can buy a bus map at the bookstores, hotels or travel agency offices on New Phetchaburi Road, after boarding the bus, keep your ticket and in the case of bus inspector checks your ticket.

Nowadays, most of the taxis in Bangkok have taximeter and are easily recognizable on Bangkok’s city bus. You can call a taxi from your hotel or on the street. Usually when you take a taxi for the first 2km, you will have to pay at least 35 bath and 5 baht per a km next. Note that if you accidentally catch a taxi with no taximeter, ask for the price before going to avoid being overcharged.

Tuk Tuk car in Thailand

Tuk Tuk, also known as a tricycle vehicle, is a means of transport that many travelers choose because it’s not only cheap but also because they have opportunity to watch the streets of Bangkok. This car can carry 2-4 people, you should negotiate the price with the car driver beforehand.
