Located 700m beyond the Km 387 marker near the airport and only a 20 minute tuk tuk ride from the center of town, the Northern Bus Station is where you can find a bus running to these places to the north of Luang Prabang for example: Nong Khiaw (a 3 hour bus ride), Oudomxay (a 5 hour bus ride), Pakmong (a 2.5 hour bus ride) and Vieng Kham (a 5 hour bus ride), Bokeo, Phongsali and Sam Neua. There are 3 daily express buses running from Luang Prabang to Nong Khiaw (150km) for 35,000 kip: 08:30am; 10:30am and 12:30pm; 3 daily express buses to Oudomxay (194 Km) for 50,000 kip: 09:00am; 12:00am and 04:00pm; 1 VIP bus to Bokeo (505 Km) for 110,000 kip at 5.00pm; 1 express bus to Viengkham (196km) for 50,000 kip at 09:00am; 4 daily express buses to Pakmong (113km) for 25,000 kip at 09:00am, 10:00am, 12:00am and 14:00pm; 1 express bus to Phongsaly (426km) for 110,000 kip at 5.00pm; 1 express bus to Sam Neua (500 Km) for 120,000 kip at 8.30am.  mekong travel

There are also daily international buses running from Luang Prabang to Hanoi – Vietnam (VIP sleeper buses) at 5.30pm; Vinh – Vietnam (VIP bus) for 200,000 kip at 6.30pm; to Kunming – China (VIP-sleeper bus) for 420,000 kip at 07:00am and to Loey (Thailand) (VIP bus) for 180,000 kip at 07:30am.
